Chat & Voice Server Hosting

Drop Discord. Keep your group.

Discord’s been pushing age verification, phone numbers, and ID checks. If you’re tired of a corporation deciding how your group communicates, there are better options – and we’re building managed hosting for one of them.

Fluxer – your group, your server

Fluxer is a free, open-source chat platform that covers the same ground as Discord: text channels, voice, video, screen sharing, mod tools, bots. The difference is you can self-host it and own your data. No age verification gates, no ad targeting, no surprise policy changes. It’s made in Sweden, GDPR-friendly by default.

We run a Fluxer instance for our own group. Same deal as our game servers: we use it, so we keep it running well.

What you get with a hosted Fluxer server:

  • Your own private instance, completely separate from the public Fluxer network
  • Text channels, DMs, voice/video, and screen sharing
  • Roles, permissions, mod tools, audit logs, and webhook/bot support
  • Custom emoji, stickers, and CSS themes
  • We handle updates, backups, and security patches
  • Your data stays on your server

Why not just self-host?

Fluxer is open source (AGPLv3), so you can run it yourself. But “can” and “want to” are different things. We handle the infrastructure so you don’t have to babysit a server process at 2 AM.

Pricing

We’re still finalizing pricing for standalone Fluxer hosting. Reach out if you’re interested and we’ll figure out something fair.

Game server customers will get a private Fluxer instance included at no extra cost – check out our game hosting.

FAQ

Why not just use Discord? Discord works fine until it doesn’t. Age verification, phone number requirements, account bans over nothing, UI changes nobody asked for, and your messages stored on someone else’s servers indefinitely. If none of that bothers you, Discord is fine. If it does, we host an alternative.

What is Fluxer? Open-source chat and voice platform. Think Discord without the corporate ownership. It’s AGPLv3, made by a small Swedish company, and designed to be self-hosted. We handle the hosting part.

Can I migrate from Discord? No automated tool for it, but setting up channels on Fluxer is quick. The real work is convincing your group to move. The people who care about privacy tend to switch fast. Everyone else follows once they see it works.

Do I need a special app? Fluxer works in a browser. There are also desktop and mobile apps if you want them.

I’m not a gamer. Can I still use this? Yeah. Fluxer works for any group that needs chat and voice. Study groups, hobby communities, small orgs. You don’t need to be hosting a game server with us.
